In loving memory of Joseph Lemuel McCabe,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joseph Lemuel McCabe, husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Joe passed peacefully in the early morning hours of June 6, 2026, surrounded by his wife.

Joe was born to Lonnie and Jannette McCabe on the eastern shore of Delaware on September 4, 1942. Joe is remembered as a stubborn, tough exterior man with a generously giving heart full of love for family and friends. Joe knew no boundaries of ways to help others, often extending help to strangers, which he knew none. Joe was known as “poptart” by his grandchildren for whom he often was seen with.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Jannette McCabe, brother Benjamin McCabe and son Travis McCabe. Joe is survived by His wife Donna McCabe, his children Terri Cable (Michael), Tiffany Cassell (Justin), daughter in law Elizabeth McCabe Longwell (Edward), grandchildren (7) Jonathon (Caitlin) McCabe, Shayne Crosson, Mason Smack, Natalie Butner, Jessica Smack, Allyson McCabe, Garrett Cassell, one great grandchild Jackson Hitchens; brother Bruce McCabe, sisters Lonnette Wharton, Lillie Baker, Gayle Lewis , Betty Lou Chandler and 2 Bruce’s and 3 nephews plus countless friends.

Joe will be remembered for his devotion and love for family, service in the army and his generosity in helping others when in need.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday June 13,2026 At the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company from 2-4pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you help another in need when you can or donate to Frankford Volunteer Fire Company for all their help during Joe’s times of need and assistance.
