Our beloved brother, Joseph J. Matzuras Jr., died at Delaware Hospice in Milford DE on Wednesday July 15, 2026. He is predeceased by his wife, Catherine, of 54 years who passed on July 6, 2026.

Joe and Cathy were longtime residents of Claymont, DE until their retirement and move to the Delaware beaches. Joe was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 28 and the Longneck Amvets. In addition to enjoying spending time at his clubs with his friends, Joe enjoyed shooting pool (at American Legion), playing cards, boating and fishing – and generally having a good time!

Joe grew up in Chester, PA and then following a family move to Delaware, Joe joined the Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Joe then worked for UPS for 25+ years until retirement. He will be missed by his sister, Roseanne (Gannon) of Wilmington, and brother, Michael Matzuras of Dover, his niece Nicole, and his nephew, Charles, and his family of Wilmington.

Memorial services will be held for Joseph and Catherine on August 4th at Melson’s Funeral Home on Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Visitation will be at 10:30am with services following at 11am.
