Jonathan David Peterson

January 21, 1964 – November 25, 2025

Jonathan David Peterson, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on January 21, 1964, Jonathan lived a life defined by kindness, curiosity and an unwavering belief that brighter days were always ahead.  An eternal optimist, he approached life with warmth, humor and an open heart.

A devoted mailman for 39 years, Jon took pride in serving his community. He loved making memories with his son, Tim.  He was the "fun uncle".  He was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed competing in his fantasy football league with his friends.  Jon loved to travel.  His sense of adventure led him to explore over 30 countries, collecting memories and friendships across the globe. He cherished all of the wonderful friends he made throughout his lifetime.

Jonathan is survived by his wife Robin Hamilton of Bowie, MD, and his son Timothy Peterson and wife Arthi, also of Bowie, MD.  He is also survived by his mother, Anna Marie Allen of Millville, DE; his sister, Linda Birner and her husband Joel of Annapolis, MD; his sister-in-law Debra Peterson (wife of Christopher Peterson) of Hagerstown, MD.

He was preceded in death by his father Jonathan Ralph Peterson, his brother Christopher Peterson and brother Daniel Peterson  whose memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Jon will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews – Lauren, Danielle, Andrew, Amanda, Samantha and Christian – all of whom he loved and supported in their own adventures.

Jonathan's optimism, generosity, and gentle spirit touched every life he encountered.  His legacy of love, laughter and music will continue to shine in the hearts of all those who knew him.
