John Henry, 89 of Dagsboro, Delaware formally of Newark, Delaware passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

John is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jeanette, his daughter Denise, her husband, Tom and granddaughter, Bethany. His son, John, and his family.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, John graduated from Wilmington High School and attended Temple University. John then served his country proudly in the United States Army. John worked for the DuPont  company for over 40 years overseeing operations for the Chestnut Run and Centre Road sites. He also worked in his family's Wilmington neighborhood bar, 'Henry's', from his early teenage years through his early 40's.

John enjoyed everything outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was always closely connected to nature and his Labrador retrievers. He treasured his retirement, spending winters in Florida fishing and the rest of the year fishing out of Indian River Inlet on his boat. John was also a perfectionist at making custom fishing tackle for his many friends on the docks.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church , Bethany Beach, Delaware.

A catholic funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 12th at 11 am at St. Ann's Church in Bethany Beach, DE, 19930.
