Jane "Jean" H. Wyman (McGuire), age 95, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Wyckoff, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

Jean was born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 23, 1929 daughter of the late James McGuire and Mary (Edwards) McGuire.  She came to the United States with her young family in 1960, and over the subsequent decades provided them with everything they needed to grow and flourish.

Jean loved animals of all kinds, but especially dogs and cats. ("Toby was a good, wee boy.") Flowers, and most of all daffodils in the spring, or "daffies" as she called them. Nature in general.  She was in wonder at the amazing cloud formations that are so abundant here in lower Delaware.  She said that you would never see such clouds in her native and much loved and missed Scotland. Jean also really enjoyed seeing something that she planted take root and flourish. She gave her children the gift of her faith and very rarely missed Mass. She loved a good cup of tea with a biscuit or a wee cake.  She was always happy to speak to a stranger and was easy with a smile and a kindness. She loved to walk and was always ready to talk to and clap (pet) a dog that she met along the way.

Most of all, she loved her children. She was a living testament to the truth that happiness is found not in one's wealth but through their love. As my mother wished, we will be taking her ashes back to Scotland so that she can lie next to her mother, father and brother.  She will be missed every day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John McGuire and a sister, Mary Hoekstra.  Jean is survived by her four children, Audrey J. Wyman of Millsboro, DE, Jean VanVliet and her husband, Kevin of Texas, James J. Wyman and his wife, Karen of Gig Harbor, WA and Kim A. Graham and her husband, James of Rockaway, NJ; a brother, James McGuire of Peebles, Scotland and 8 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966 where a eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m.
