James J. Cahill, known affectionately by his loved ones as "Jimmy," passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, in Ocean View, Delaware, surrounded by his wife and children. Born on August 20, 1952, in the Bronx, New York, Jim was a true New Yorker at heart! His zest for life and enduring smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met throughout his 71 years.

Jim's heart was always with his family and friends. He was a caring and devoted husband to his wife, Liz, with whom he shared over forty fun and exciting years of marriage. Together, they fulfilled their dream of moving to the beach.

Jim's pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He is survived by Elizabeth Cahill of Ocean View; Tom Cahill of Hawthorn Woods, IL; Missy Cahill (Chris Miller) of Brooklyn; Eileen Freed (David) of Baltimore, and Jackie Cahill (Chris Allenbaugh) of Baltimore; his six granddaughters Kennedy, Kate, Quinn, Alexandra, Juliana, and Emilia, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them as their "Grampy."

Jim was predeceased by his parents, John and Eileen Cahill, his siblings, John Cahill and Donna Waldron, and his niece, Marybeth Valentine. His memory will be carried on by his adoring family and the many lives he touched.

A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm ET on Wednesday, March 27, at Cargain Funeral Homes, 418 Route 6, Mahopac, NY 10541. The following morning, Thursday, March 28th, we will have a service at Cargain Funeral Home in Mahopac at 10 am ET and will then process to Gates of Heaven for burial at 11:30 am ET at 10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in his name to Covenant House at ( https://www.covenanthouse.org ), a charity that meant so much to Jim and he has given to for many years.
