James E. Brunke Jr, also known as “Jim” age 84 of Dagsboro, DE and formerly of Pennsylvania died on September 1, 2026.

Born on January 15, 1942 in Ridley Park, PA to the late James E. Brunke Sr. and Elizabeth E. Boggs, Jim was a longtime Pennsylvania resident prior to moving to Dagsboro 25 years ago. Jim was a 1959 graduate of Ridley Township High School, later attending and graduating from the Pennsylvania Military College in Chester, PA. Jim was extremely proud of his military education and service. Husband of 60 years to his beloved wife Mary Ann Brunke (nee Friel), together the couple raised two children. Jim worked for 30 plus years as an Engineer in the paper industry prior to his retirement.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Ann Brunke along with his two children Jonathan Newell Brunke (Sharon) of Folcroft, PA and James E. Brunke III(Rachel) of Kennett Square, PA. In addition, Jim leaves behind his two grandchildren, Fenn and Rey Brunke, his sister-in-law Terry Foraker and his niece and nephew Daniel and Erin Foraker.

A memorial service will be held on September 15, 2026 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services located at 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View DE where the family will receive guests from 1:00 PM with a service followed at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations in Jim’s honor to the Either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Salvation Army.
