Howard W. Rupp, age 88, of Ocean View, DE formerly of Kent Island and Annapolis, MD passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE.

Howard was born in Baltimore, MD on June 27, 1936 son of the late Edward A. Rupp and the late Dorothy M. (Pudney) Rupp.  He owned and operated Rupp Homes, Inc., building custom homes in the beach resort since 1983.  Prior to moving to Delaware, Howard also built homes in the Annapolis and Kent Island, MD area.

Howard was a hardworking man that loved his trade.  He also enjoyed boating and socializing with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joy Backert.  Howard is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Carol S. Goodhand; four daughters, Jill Wirtz, Kathy Cottingham and her husband, Gary, Christina Vogel and her husband, Steve and Jenna Carter and her husband, Jerry; son-in-law John Backert, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Shannon Williams, Orvie Thumel, Niki Andrew, John Backert, III, Nickalos Cornell, Tyler Cornell and Kyle Vogel and five great grandchildren, Tayler, Devin, Lily, Lennon and Winter.

Services and burial will be held privately.
