Herbert Norman Krebs, age 81, of Selbyville, DE formerly of Baltimore, MD went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family.

Herb was born in Baltimore, MD on April 2, 1943 son of the late Herbert William Krebs and the late Levenia (Smith) Krebs.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and then continued to serve his country for a total of 22 years retiring as a Master Sergeant serving on the Fuel Systems Repair team.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Samuel Meisel Inc. in Glen Burnie, MD as a warehouse manager and after moving to Delaware, he worked at A.E. Moore Janitorial Inc., in Millsboro as an inventory manager for another 10 years.  Over the years, Herb enjoyed being a DJ and he did that parttime for over 20 years, which bolstered his love of music and his amazing personality.

Herb was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in Dagsboro and the Mason Dixon VFW Post #7234 in Ocean View, DE.  He was an avid sports fan and a talented baseball player in his younger years.  Herb would always be rooting for his beloved Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens or his Washington Capitals.  He was also a computer enthusiast as he enjoyed spending his free time on the computer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Krebs, II.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara A. (Carmine) Krebs; a son, Steven Krebs and his wife, Heather of Dagsboro, DE and a daughter-in-law, Seleena Krebs of Roanoke, VA.

A visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945, where a funeral service will begin at 12:30 PM.  Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
