Harry "Don" Simpler, age 78, of Delmar, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Don was born in Salisbury, MD on May 17, 1947 to the late Harry Hickman Simpler and late Valeria (Kathryn) Wilgus Houde.  Early on he worked as a maintenance mechanic before his disability at Mrs. Paul's Kitchen in Crisfield, MD.  Don had many talents but was famously known for his love of animals and his true passion, music, which he pursued most of his life. He was happiest in his role as lead singer and lead bass player of the band Outcasts, who were loved locally by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Marie, half-brother William Simpler, and former wife and good friend, Joyce Simpler. Don is survived by his son, Donald Wayne Simpler and wife Julia, of Arizona, and his daughters, Dorie Simpler and Sonya Simpler of Laurel, DE; 7 grandchildren, Cody Simpler, Dylan Shorter and wife Jozlynn, Ashton Messick, Dakota Messick, Trinity Brown, Uriyah Brown and Junior Chavez; two great grandchildren, Sadie Vilone and Dawson Shorter, and a half-sister Stella Simpler of North Carolina.

A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, DE 19945. Funeral service will begin at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Wilgus Family Cemetery in Roxana, DE.
