George Sarkis of Millville, Delaware, passed away peacefully on December 8th at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware surrounded by family and friends.

George was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Carmela Theresa Torchia and George Joseph Sarkis on October 22, 1943. George graduated from The University of Wisconsin, Madison, and attended The University of Toledo Law School. George married Catherine Savena, on July 11, 1970 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. George grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and later lived in Jamestown and Buffalo, New York. He and his family spent most of their years living in Columbia, Maryland, before his retirement in Millville, Delaware.

George is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Melissa "Missy" Lynn (Matt) Kirby. George is survived by his devoted wife, Catherine Theresa Sarkis, cherished daughters, Stephanie Anne (Dan) Hickey and Jessica Catherine (Justin Congleton) Sarkis, six beautiful grandchildren, Colette Savena Christine Kirby, Kingston George Kirby, Maeve Savena Hickey, Leo William Hickey, Malcolm George Hickey, and Lewis James Congleton, and two sisters, Deanna Maffei of Raleigh, North Carolina and Judy Contos of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and relatives.

George had a successful career at PHH spanning more than 30 years. For the majority of his employment, he was in charge of managing corporate relationships for some of PHH 's largest and most prestigious clients. George was considered the consummate professional, trusted advisor to his clients, internal partner to his fellow colleagues, and mentor to upcoming young professionals. He retired on December 31, 2008 as Vice President of Business Development.

George had many interests which included exercising at the gym, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading books on his Kindle, dining out enjoying new cuisines, visiting the family condo in Ocean City, Maryland, politics, traveling, and being an active volunteer in the community HOA in their neighborhood development.

George was well-known for his distinguished and unprecedented style as well as his superb manners and kindness. He had a sharp, witty sense of humor and passionate zest for life.

The family will receive visitors at 10:00am, followed by a Requiem Mass at 11:00am on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. Ann's Parish in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
