George H. Mecleary Jr, affectionately known as Buzz, passed away on April 30, 2023, at the age of 68 in Millsboro, Delaware, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his beloved family.

Buzz grew up in Levittown and graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1972. He went on to attend Bucks County Community College, The College of New Jersey, and Widener School of Law. After practicing law for many years, he retired in 2020 from State Farm Insurance Company.

Buzz was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather (Cappy) who loved spending time with his family, telling jokes, and starting various projects for his wife and daughters. He had a passion for tinkering with his tools and was known for his sense of humor.

Buzz is survived by his wife, Marie (nee Birbeck), his daughters Jessica Mecleary (Vikram Joshi), Erin Cummings (Curtis), Victoria Robins (Jeffrey), his grandchildren Jacob, Sean, Alexander, Evelyn, Carter, Tessa, and Norah, his mother, Peg Friday, and his siblings Virginia Gilfillian (Nelson), Laurie Rosenau (Lee), and A. Christopher Mecleary (Ann). He also leaves behind three step-siblings, Dana Aurebach (Paul), Jane Rivera (Junior), and Jim Friday (Kathy), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews and other people he was fond of.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Those interested in attending should contact the immediate family for further information. Buzz will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
