Gayla Jo Wilkinson, age 67, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE.

Born on February 24, 1958, in Charles City, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Gayle Green and the late Ardella (Zipse) Morrison. Gayla graduated from Charles City High School in 1976 and later earned her cosmetology degree from La' James International College of Cosmetology in Iowa.

Gayla was a beloved and well-known cosmetologist in the Rehoboth Beach area for over 40 years. She worked at Hair by Edward James and, for the last 25 years of her career, at Bad Hair Day, retiring in July 2021. Her warm personality, skilled hands, and devotion to her clients earned her lasting friendships and a respected reputation in the community.

She loved beach days, cherished time with her family, and found her greatest joy in doting on her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gayla was preceded in death by her brother, Greg Green.

She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 48 years, Stephen Wilkinson; her children, Nathan Wilkinson and his wife, Teri, of Frankford, DE, and Samantha Humphrey and her husband, Courtney, of Dagsboro, DE; her treasured grandchildren, Alexis Wilkinson, Tyler Wilkinson, and Gianna Humphrey; her sister, Deanna Ballard and her husband, Tom, of Lincoln, NE; and her brother, Dana Green and his wife, Joy, of Bradenton, FL.

A private celebration of Gayla's life will be held at a later date.
