Gary Paul Nelson

February 14, 1967 – October 21, 2025

Gary Paul Nelson, 58, of Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. Born in New London, Connecticut, and raised in East Lyme, Gary spent the last eight years of his life in Delaware with his close friend Erica, a place where he found healing, peace, and joy.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Veronica and Robert Nelson. He is survived by his son, Robert, his daughter, Stephanie, and his brothers, David and Dan.

A talented roofer, electrician, botanist, and all-around handyman, Gary took great pride in his work and his ability to create and fix just about anything. Beyond his craftsmanship, he was an extraordinary artist known for his striking realism and deep creativity. Spiritually inclined and reflective, Gary found connection in music — especially the sounds of Led Zeppelin and Peter Gabriel.

Those who knew Gary will remember his sense of humor, warm heart, his resilience through life's challenges, and his ability to stay in the present moment. He passed away surrounded by peace, in an environment that honored his growth and allowed him to thrive.

Gary's family and friends will carry his love, laughter, and artistry with them always.
