Frank S. Bennett, Jr., age 77, of Dagsboro, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home.

Frank was born in Milford, DE on March 1, 1946 son of the late Frank Swainey Bennett, Sr. and the late Mariam E. Marvel.  He was a graduate of Lord Baltimore High School Class of 1964.

Frank worked in the family business at JS Bennett and Son in Millville, DE in his younger years before driving for Perdue for several years.  He then opened his own lawncare and landscaping business, where many friendships were made.

Frank will be remembered as a wonderful husband and loving father and grandfather.  Life wasn't always easy for Frank, but he overcame many obstacles and always kept himself busy.  Frank enjoyed baseball and umpired in his younger years at the Pyle Center.  He also loved to travel, boating and fishing and was a strong man with a big heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Mae (Vickery) Bennett; four children, Frank S. Bennett, III and his wife, Lisa of Grand Island, FL, Wally Bennett and his wife, Ruth of Cape Coral, FL, Robin Verlique and her husband, Jamie of New Bern, NC and Lori Ragone and her husband, Bob of Penns Grove, NJ; a brother, Franklin Bennett and his wife, Diane of Millville, DE and two sisters, Melissa Ziegler and her husband, Donnie of Felton, DE and Susanne Whitney of Magnolia, DE; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE, where friends and family may gather after 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery.
