Esther S. McCallin, age 95, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at her home.

Esther was born in Bridgeton, NJ on July 25, 1928 daughter of the late Ernest Williams and Mamie (Afflerback) Williams.  She was proud to serve as a cadet in the Nursing Corps during WWII and continued her studies at Delaware Division Nursing School and then started her nursing career at the hospital.  She worked as a RN with Delaware Division retiring from Christiana Care after 48 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell McCallin in 2020; a son, Gary Sagers and three siblings, Gladys Kuck, Leroy Williams and William Williams.  Esther is survived by her four children, Keith (Marian) Sagers, Diane Moses, Kevin Sagers (Laurie) and Lisa Greenfield; a brother, Donald Williams and also 31 grand, great and great great grandchildren.

At the request of the deceased there will be no services.

Burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Esther's name to VITAS Hospice, 30265 Commerce Drive, Unit 202, Millsboro, DE 19966.
