Emma L. Flood, 86, quietly slipped away from her home in Dagsboro, DE, where she shared the love of her family and friends to go to the House of the Lord in the early morning hours of April 16, 2026.

After marrying her husband, George Edward Flood, 71 years ago she became a homemaker and partner in the poultry and farming business. She is survived by George Edward along with their children, Kenneth (Joanna), Robert (Chris), William, Chuck (Donna), Patricia, Kathryn (Clarence) and James (Amy), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Agnes Collins and sisters, Linda Carey and Trudy Smack.

Emma was the happiest when her home was filled with family and friends sharing in the large home cooked meals, she was so well known for and had a child in her arms that she could nurture giving both discipline and unconditional love.

Our deepest gratitude to caregivers Ashley Hickman and Sharnette Hallett for the loving care and support they provided as we navigated Emma's declining health and to Vitas Hospice Care, with a special thanks to Christina Wright, RN and Alyssa Lacangelo, RN.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, DE 19945 where friends and family may gather starting at 11 a.m.
