Elizabeth J. Evans, age 97, went home to be with her Savior on March 5, 2025.  She passed away peacefully at her son and daughter-in-love's residence in Bear, DE.  Elizabeth was born August 9, 1927 in Ocean View, DE to the late Daniel N. Shockley and Flossie Shockley (Long).  She was predeceased by her husband Richard J. Evans and sisters Minnie Steele and Cecil Long.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Tony Evans (Lisa), and three grandchildren, Toni, Lia, and Daniel, whom she cherished.  Her love of family defined who she was, always going to extreme lengths to make sure they were taken care of.  Mom's chicken & dumplins and potato salad were a staple at our dinner table.  She loved making sure her family was fed…and well fed.

"Mommom," as she was known to her grandkids, had a tremendous impact on their lives.  She always wanted to spend time with them and made sure they knew she loved them.  Her absence will leave a void that can't be filled.

As per her wishes, there will be a private committal service for the immediate family.  In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to your local hospice organization in her memory. The family would like to thank the ladies from hospice who helped take care of Mommom in her final days: nurse Maddy and aide Janel. You were truly a blessing; thank you.
