Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Barr, age 83, of Georgetown, DE, formerly of Norwood, PA, passed away peacefully at Accent Care Hospice in Wilmington, DE, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Philadelphia on May 8, 1942, Betty was the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Scanlon) Rash. She devoted her early years to creating a loving, nurturing home for her four children. As they grew older, she continued to work tirelessly in various roles to support her family, eventually retiring as a cashier from Smart Park in Essington, PA.

Betty lived a life rooted in faith and service. She was a dedicated member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Eddystone, PA, and proudly served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus in Holmes, PA. She found joy in traveling, days spent at the beach, and the fun of visiting local casinos—but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Anthony Barr, in 2012; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Barr; and her two sisters, Frances Marrollo and Marie Sullivan. She is survived by her four children—Thomas Barr of Woolwich Township, NJ; Betty Ann Thornton of Georgetown, DE; Dennis Barr (Denise) of Woolwich Township, NJ; and Brian Barr (Sally) of Acworth, GA—and her nine cherished grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 noon on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where a prayer service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will be held privately.
