Elaine Allen, age 74, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Newark, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in the comfort of her own home.

Elaine was born in Newburgh, NY on March 10, 1950 daughter of the late Melvin Elwood Franklin and the late Eugena (Eagen) Franklin.  She retired as an office manager with Atlantic Management.

Elaine had a great love for her family and will be remembered for her crazy sense of humor, her amazing organizational skills and working hard to provide for her family.  In her free time, she looked forward to playing cards every Friday night with her family and friends, completing home improvement projects, reading and playing games.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Allen, III; great grandchild, Riley Chapman and three brothers, Glenn, Albert and Philip Franklin.  She is survived by two children, Christopher Allen of Lewes, DE and Amy DiBattista and her husband, Vincent of Harbeson, DE; eight grandchildren, Renee Cartwithin, Shawn Chapman and his wife, Tara, Cody Allen, Victoria Allen and her partner Tiffany Lane, Sky Allen and Giovanni DiBattista Cody Jessup, Alissa Manning and two great grandchildren, Finn Wright and Cade Chapman.  Elaine is also survived by four brothers, Dennis Franklin, Benjamin Franklin and his companion, Sharon Love, Willard Franklin and his wife, Darlene and Barry Franklin and three sisters, Paula Konitzer and her husband, Jim, Tina Wright and her husband, Edward and Lisa Franklin.

A celebration of Elaine's life will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966 where friends and family may gather after 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Elaine's name to Tunnell Cancer Center Special Needs Fund, c/o Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958.
