Obituary

Edward Leo Kervick, age 91, of Millville, DE, formerly of Bristol, PA, passed away peacefully,

surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE.

Leo was born in Bristol, PA, on December 27, 1934, to the late Edward Kervick and Eleanor (McIlvaine) Kervick. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the battleship New Jersey; a chapter of his life that reflected the deep patriotism and pride he carried with him throughout his years.

Leo spent much of his working life with the Teamsters in Philadelphia, primarily loading trucks for Sears & Roebuck. In the late 1980s, he and his family made their way to Millville, DE, where Leo embraced retirement and the slower pace of life near the beach.

He was a lifelong member of Mason Dixon VFW Post #7234 in Ocean View, DE, and remained proud of his military service and the friendships that came with it.

Leo was a true sports fan, passionately cheering for his beloved Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame football. But those who knew him will remember much more than the teams he loved. They will remember his quick wit, his winning personality, and his wonderful sense of humor. Leo loved a good joke and could bring laughter to any gathering. He was often the life of the party and had a way of making people feel welcome and included.

Above all, Leo loved his family. His Catholic faith was an important part of his life, and his devotion to those he loved was evident in all that he did. He treasured the time he spent with his two sons, Brian and Christian, and some of his happiest moments were the simple ones—Friday night happy hours, getting ice cream, watching sports, sharing a laugh, or simply enjoying time together. Those ordinary moments became the memories that will be cherished most.

Leo shared nearly 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Diana R. Kervick, until her passing in 2018. Their life together was filled with family, love, and countless memories. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Eleanor Kervick and Marilyn Kervick Rhodes.

Leo will be deeply missed by his sons, Brian Kervick and Christian Kervick, both of Millville, DE; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Leo leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a legacy of love and laughter, and two sons who will carry his stories—and his sense of humor—with them always. He was a proud patriot, a devoted Catholic, a loving father, and a friend who knew how to make people smile. His presence will be missed, but the joy he brought to those around him will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM.

Interment with military honors will be held privately on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Leo’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
