Edna G. Ewing, age 92, of Ocean View, DE formerly of Maryland passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

She was born in Washington, D.C. on August 15, 1932 daughter of the late Clayton Hendrick and the late Walenah (Crenshaw) Hendrick.  Edna was a hard worker as she was a self-employed house cleaner working until she was 86.

Edna loved the holidays as she got to spend quality time with her family.  She will be remembered as a loving, wonderful and caring person that always put others needs before her own.  Edna also loved her church, where she served as a deacon at the Ocean View Presbyterian Church prior to her illness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ewing; a great granddaughter, Macey and her 8 siblings.  She is survived by her two children, Linda Shrout and her husband, Michael and Kenneth Ewing, II and his wife, Jackie; three grandchildren, Jennifer Shrout, Kimberly Collier and Michael Shrout and five great grandchildren, Mason, Ryder, Chase, Dylan and Kylie.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Ocean View Presbyterian Church, 67 Central Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970 where friends and family may gather after 11:30 AM.  Interment will follow in adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Edna's name to the Ocean View Presbyterian Church at the above address.
