Dorothy L. Dukes, age 73, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Dover, DE went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Dorothy was born in Dover, DE on September 21, 1950 daughter of the late Millard Hutchins and the late Edith (Harry) Hutchins.  She was a 1969 graduate of Ceaser Rodney High School.  Dorothy retired from the Delaware Division of Printing & Publishing in December of 2006 after 37 ½ years of service.

Dorothy was a member and former usher at the First Baptist Church in Dover, DE and faithfully attended Dagsboro Church of God where she had also served as a greeter and usher.  She will be remembered as a tender hearted and compassionate woman that loved listening to southern gospel music, watching classic TV and had a heart for animals.

She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Wayne A. Dukes.

A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945 where a funeral service will begin at 1 PM.  Interment will follow at Carey's Cemetery in Frankford, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Dorothy's name to Dagsboro Church of God, 32224 Dupont Blvd., Dagsboro, DE 19939.
