Dorothy Adele Boyle, 91, of Dagsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. In her final moments, she was comforted by her brother Jim, her daughter Donna, her grandson Dylan, and several friends and loved ones in her community.

Dorothy was born in Wilmington, Delaware, where she attended Wilmington High School. During her school years, she was an accomplished track athlete and was actively involved in sports, school activities, and clubs.

She spent much of her professional life as a realtor, beginning with Fox & Lazo in Media, Pennsylvania, and later at Hammock Dunes in Palm Coast, Florida. It was there that she met her husband, Raymond. Together, they made their home in Ormond Beach, Florida, before eventually settling in the Seagrass Plantation community in Delaware—a place where Dorothy would leave a lasting mark.

With her warmth, generosity, and what many fondly described as her "gift of the gab," she quickly became a beloved presence. Dorothy had a rare ability to make everyone feel welcome, remembered, and valued, brightening countless lives in the community she so proudly called home.

Always ready for the next adventure, Dorothy was up for anything with her friends and family. Known for her kindness, spirited conversations, and larger-than-life energy, Dorothy formed meaningful connections wherever she went. She gave freely of her time, laughter, and love, leaving an indelible impression on neighbors, friends, and family alike.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Boyle; her son, Francis "Frankie" Butler; and her parents, Louise and William Ruth.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Butler and Arlene Butler; her grandson, Dylan Butler; her brother, James Ruth; and her devoted four-legged companions, her two Yorkies, Sparky and Willie, who were never far from her side.

Dorothy's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, the family she loved fiercely, and the community that was forever better for having known her.

A visitation will be held on March 31, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Melson's Funeral Home, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Delaware, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m.
