Doris I. Hansen passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends in Ocean View, Delaware. She was born on October 15, 1950, in Port Arthur, Texas.

Doris worked for Different Supermarkets for more than 45 years, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She was a lifetime member of the Ocean View VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post #7234.

Family was very important to Doris. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Flemming Hansen; her daughters, Michele Hansen, Judy Gonzalez and her husband, Frank; Debbie Buller and her husband, Larry; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings, John Barbosa, Joseph Barbosa, and Betty Sparklin. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who will miss her greatly.

Doris was preceded in death by her mother and father, Doris and John Barbosa.

Doris will be remembered for her kindness, her caring nature, and the way she made others feel welcome. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon on Thursday October 15, 2026, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970.
