Dorcas Gail Jones, 72, of Lewes, Delaware, formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at her brother's home in Batavia, Illinois.

Born in Darby, Pennsylvania, on July 5, 1953, Gail was the beloved daughter of the late Donald G. Ebner and Dorcas A. (Rice) Ebner. She built a career marked by dedication, intelligence, and compassion. Early in her professional life, she worked as a clerk for the FBI and later with a law firm before finding her true professional home at Burris Logistics in Milford, Delaware, where she served as a software analyst in the quality department. Gail took immense pride in her work and was admired for her unwavering commitment, generous spirit, and willingness to always go above and beyond for both coworkers and customers alike.

Gail embraced life with warmth and enthusiasm. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, she faithfully cheered on the Eagles and Flyers through every season. She was a longtime member of Conley's United Methodist Church, where her kindness and thoughtful nature touched many lives. Gail found joy in the simple pleasures: relaxing at the beach, swimming, spending time with family, and showering endless love on her beloved dogs, who brought her tremendous happiness throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her cherished canine companions, Sammy and Muffin.

She leaves behind her loving brother, Bruce Ebner and his wife, Nancy; her devoted nephew, Chris Ebner and his wife, Misty; her beloved niece, Kimberly Chandler and her husband, James; and her treasured great-grandnephews, Wyatt, Kyle, and Shawn. She will also be deeply missed by her faithful canine companion, Oreo, whose companionship brought her comfort and joy.

Gail will be remembered for her gentle heart, her generosity toward others, her loyal spirit, and the quiet but meaningful ways she made life brighter for those around her.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Conley's Chapel, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes, Delaware 19958. Interment will immediately follow in the adjoining cemetery.
