Dolores "Dee" Hubert, age 80, of Ocean View, Delaware, formerly of Middletown and North Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2026, at TidalHealth–Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland.

Dee was born on May 13, 1945, in Duryea, Pennsylvania, and was raised in Chester, Pennsylvania, the beloved daughter of the late Emile Haas, Sr. and Stella (Gorrick) Haas. After graduating high school, Dee pursued beauty school and worked as a hairdresser, a career that reflected her lifelong appreciation for style, attention to detail, and helping others feel their best. Once she began her family, Dee devoted herself wholeheartedly to her role as a homemaker—a role she embraced with love, pride, and unwavering dedication.

A wonderful and devoted mother, Dee was deeply involved in all aspects of her children's lives. Whether attending activities, offering guidance, or simply being present, she made sure her children always knew they were supported and loved.

Faith was a guiding force throughout Dee's life. A devoted Catholic, she generously shared her time and heart with her church communities. She served as a CCDC teacher at Holy Rosary in Claymont, Delaware, where she helped shape young faith lives, and later as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Middletown, Delaware. Her faith was quiet yet steadfast, lived out through service and compassion.

Dee also found joy in friendship and fellowship. As a proud member of the Red Hat Society, she delighted in social gatherings and formed many lasting friendships that brought laughter and companionship into her life.

Creativity was one of Dee's greatest gifts. She had a remarkable talent for sewing, famously crafting felt duck doorstops that became favorites and sold out at nearly every craft show she attended. Her artistic abilities extended to needlepoint, drawing, and sketching, each piece reflecting her patience and eye for detail. Dee took great pride in everything she did—from her artwork, to her appearance, to the careful way she maintained her yard. To Dee, everything had a place, and everything should be "just right."

In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her brother, Emile Haas, Jr.

She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Fred Hubert; her three children, Joseph Hubert and his wife Vicki of Greenwood, Delaware; Jessica Estep Campbell and her husband Daniel of Smyrna, Delaware; and Jeff Hubert and his wife Heather of Ocean View, Delaware. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Danny Hubert and his wife Melissa of Townsend, Delaware; Missy Baines and her husband Caleb of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Alli Koska of Frederick, Maryland; and a cherished great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m.  Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Dee's name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul St. Ann Bethany Beach Conference, PO Box 879, Ocean View, DE 19970.
