Diane Sharon Holmes, "Lady Di" passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Diane is predeceased by her parents Ray Earl Holmes and Eileen Homes and her sister, Joan Collar and her nephew Gregory Mark Nunes.

She is survived by her loving niece, Bonnie Vendette of Stafford Springs, Connecticut. Also, her great nephews Jason Vendette, Eric Vendette, Nathan Gompper and Paul Nunes, her grand nephews, Ethan Gompper, Evan Gompper and Anthony Vendette, Zachary Vendette, and grandnieces, Angelique Vendette and Adrianna Nunes.

Diane was born in West Harford, Connecticut on July 13, 1943.  She graduated from William H. Hall High School.  She went on to study at Connecticut College.  Diane enjoyed a successful career in Government Relations in Washington, DC working for Consolidated Edison, American Nuclear Energy Council and Fluor Corporation. She retired in 2007 and moved to the Fenwick Island area in Delaware.

She enjoyed playing golf with a women's golf team in Bethany Bay, DE.  She was also an avid reader, particularly enjoying the World War II era and was always a winner during trivia night.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, November 14, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE where friends and family may gather after 11 A.M. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro, DE. 19939.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brandywine Valley SPCA, Georgetown location, 22918 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE. 19947.
