Diana Griffiths, 83, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026.

Diana was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie. She is survived by her son, Adam; daughter-in-law, Caryl; daughter, Lynn; granddaughter, Charlotte; and brother, Bob.

Diana grew up in Whitestone, New York, where she was surrounded by her cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. In the 1960s, she moved to Long Island to raise her family.

Diana enjoyed a successful 30-year career as an executive secretary, but she took the greatest pride in her lifelong career as a daughter, sister, cousin, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor.

In the late 1990s, Diana and Charlie moved to Delaware to begin “Act 2”—and they never looked back. The immense pleasure and sense of community Delaware gave them was second to none.

Throughout her life, Diana was an avid collector. In fact, she had collections of collections. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to QVC, antique stores, and every garden center on the East Coast that sold Hostas—we know you will feel the loss.

Beautiful things made Diana happy.

A special shout-out goes to Hershey’s, Snickers bars, and Nutella for providing her with an unrivaled source of joy.

As a serial tailgater and a general complainer, Diana peacefully leaves behind her impressive collection of grudges, including people who might get to the light before her, oversized side-view mirrors, throwing out expired food, dust, and anyone who wore white after Labor Day.

But Diana’s most prized collection was the people she surrounded herself with.

Her family. Her friends. She cherished them all.

Eighty years of curating.

It did not matter if she had met you yesterday or had known you forever—you were hers. She cared about you. She thought about you. She was interested in you. And, perhaps most importantly, she loved your dog.

Diana had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, remembered, and loved. She collected people the same way she collected beautiful things—with great enthusiasm, loyalty, and an appreciation for what made each one special.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and, knowing Diana, probably still quietly judging our fashion choices, your landscaping and this year’s Hallmark Christmas movie line up.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930, where friends and family may call after 10:30AM.
