D. Mark McCormick, 56

Mark was born to Dennis and Dorothy (Witts) McCormick in Philadelphia, PA, on May 28th, 1968. He was raised in nearby Aston, PA. In 1985, he moved with his family to Fenwick Island, DE, to help open Denney Electric Supply in Millsboro, DE. He graduated from Indian River High School in Frankford, DE, in 1986. He and his wife, Karen, married in 1992 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, MD, and they went on to raise three children together in Ocean View, DE. He worked at Denney for 40 years, eventually becoming co-owner/operator with his wife, Karen. Mark was a devout Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister at his parish. In his free time, Mark enjoyed fishing, live music, traveling, family meals, and following the stock market. He was an avid Philadelphia & University of South Carolina sports fan. Mark was well-known for being hard-working, generous, and genuinely interested in others.

Mark passed away on February 5th, 2025. Mark is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen (Bunting) McCormick, and three children, Avery (wife, Madison), Griffin and Gabrielle; a brother, John; and many loving relatives and friends.

A Catholic funeral Mass to honor Mark will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, MD, on May 15th at 2pm; and visitation will be from 12pm-2pm. The internment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Luke Catholic Church (100th & Coastal Hwy., Ocean City, MD, 21842).
