David James Ennis, age 83, of Dagsboro, DE passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.

David was born in Salisbury, MD on March 9, 1941 son of the late Willard Stanford Ennis and the late Virginia Elizabeth (Phillips) Ennis.  He worked as a sales merchandiser for several years before his retirement.

David enjoyed spending his free time fishing, hunting and watching sports.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Paul Ennis.  David is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia (Brumbley) Ennis; a son, David James Ennis, II of Hebron, MD; two stepdaughters, Diana Godwin of Dagsboro, DE and Sherry Magee of Dagsboro, DE; four grandsons, Derrick Godwin and his Fiancé, Casey Ware, P. David Godwin and his wife, Ashley, Dayton Magee and Jeremy Magee and four great grandchildren, Ivan Godwin, Mitchell Godwin, Addison Godwin and Chase Godwin.  David is also survived by a brother, Willard Ennis of Salisbury, MD and two sisters, Carol Reiss and her husband, Jack of California and Sandra Abbott and her husband, Richard of Chincoteague, VA.

A viewing will be held from 11 AM to 12 noon on Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945.  A graveside service will follow at Dagsboro Redmen Cemetery.
