Chieng Mouynivong, age 85, of Frankford, DE passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Chieng was born in Laos on May 15, 1939.  He served as the Captain of the Police Department in Laos before having to flee the country in December of 1979.  Once he came to the states, he worked hard to become a citizen and had a long career with Perdue in Georgetown, DE before retiring.

Chieng lived a long life and left will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Somchit Mouynivong in 2009 and his 8 siblings.  He is survived by his 8 children, Eth, Khambahn, Somsack, Deng, Noulack, Vila, Thanin and Inton; 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945, where friends and family may gather after 12 noon.
