Charles William Hahn, III (Charlie), 74, of Frankford, Delaware, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on November 23, 1951, to Beverly Thompson and Charles Hahn, Jr., Charlie lived a life marked by determination, quiet strength, kindness, and deep love for those closest to him.

Charlie shared his life in Frankford with his beloved wife, Suzanne, and their cherished dog, Ellie. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Janine and Kellie, and a caring stepfather to Matthew and Christopher. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Harrison, Dean, Layla, and Mia, all of whom brought him immense joy. Charlie is survived by his wonderful brothers, James Hahn and Dave Hahn. We know that Charlie is lovingly joined in heaven with his stepson, Christopher, and his dog, Ellie, who preceded him in passing.

Charlie built a respected career as a manufacturing engineer, where he shared his impeccable craftsmanship and versatile intelligence with AAI/Textron Company, ETI Electric Transit Inc., and Skoda Group. He could also be found at various competitions for the North South Skirmish Association, where he shared cherished camaraderie with many who enjoyed traditional musket shooting. Otherwise, you may have seen Charlie peacefully sitting on his front porch with a coffee or taking the dog for a beach walk with Suzanne.

Those who knew Charlie will remember him for his loyalty to family and pets, his silly sense of humor, and his enduring faith in God. Charlie’s unwavering strength, dependability, wealth of knowledge, and gentle spirit brought comfort and stability to the people around him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Though he is gone from this world, his legacy will remain forever.

Funeral services for Charles will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford DE 19945, Delaware. Family and friends may gather for visitation beginning at 1:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM.
