Charles Ammon Beaverson Jr. (Chip), 61, died Friday, June 30, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family.

Chip was the father of two daughters Kristin N. Beaverson and Sarah E. Beaverson (fiancé Giordi Bordoli).

Born May 12, 1962 in Boston, MA, he was the son of Charles A. Beaverson who predeceased him and Virginia Lupton Keller Beaverson of York, PA and Lewes, DE.

Chip was a 1980 graduate of York Suburban High School and a proud Eagle Scout. He graduated from Swarthmore College with Honors in 1984 with a degree in Economics and Engineering and received a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Chicago in 1989.

Following graduate school Chip applied his organization development and management skills to various consulting firms, rising to a Managing Director and Partner in Bearing Point, Inc. (formerly KPMG Consulting).

After his retirement he moved to Lewes, DE where he immersed himself in the history of the town he loved and served as Director of Operations and Administration at the Lewes Historical Society.  In 2019, he received an executive certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University, McCourt School of Public Policy.  He was a member of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church serving on the Vestry and Capital Campaign Committee.

An avid sportsman and sailor, Chip was a member of the Lewes Yacht Club where he served as president of the Lewes Yacht Club Foundation whose mission is "to provide funding to enhance the potential of youth in sailing, swimming, maritime activities and education". An academic scholarship has been established in his name.

In addition to his children and mother, Chip is survived by his beloved former wife Carol B. Zortman, his brother Christopher A. Beaverson (wife Jennifer) of Seattle, WA; his sister Katherine L. Beaverson (husband Gus Schippert) of Ridgefield, CT; his sister Anna Elizabeth Swenson (husband Gary) of York, PA; and five nieces and nephews Annika, Emily, Erika, Brendan, and Nathaniel.

A funeral liturgy is scheduled for Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 12:30 pm at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.  The service will also be available to watch online.  Visit the church's website for more details.
