Catherine Elizabeth Sard (née Fairbank), affectionately known as "Mom," passed away on September 13, 2024, in Berlin, Maryland, at the age of 83. Born on June 8, 1940, in Easton, Maryland, Catherine dedicated her life to her family and community, embodying a spirit of service and compassion.

Catherine's commitment to her community was evident through her lifetime membership at the Ocean Pines Firehouse, where she volunteered in the ambulance service, driven by a desire to help those around her. Her professional journey was marked by a transition from real estate to the medical field, where she worked in the Emergency Room at PRMC hospital, and later retired from AGH as a transporter. Known for her kindness, she crafted pillows for patients to aid in their recovery, a testament to her caring nature.

A skilled seamstress, Catherine found joy in sewing, a hobby that not only brought her personal fulfillment but also allowed her to share her creations with others, further extending her legacy of care.

Catherine is survived by her loving children Ernie Sard; Donna Counts and Judy Ninzeheltzer; and her grandchildren, Joseph Land, Leah Sard, Chad Joines, and Kay Ketoner. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Beth Joines.

Her life, marked by selflessness and dedication, leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew her, ensuring her memory will be cherished and her legacy celebrated by her family and the community she loved so dearly.
