Catherine "Kaye" Ann Batchelor, age 78, of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Kaye was born in Lewes, DE, on November 27, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Walls and Nellie Elizabeth (Short) Walls. She was a proud graduate of Lewes High School, Class of 1964. Kaye retired from the City of Rehoboth Beach as the office manager after 39 years of dedicated service in 2014.

After retiring, Kaye cherished the time spent babysitting her only grandson, Liam, with whom she shared a deep and loving bond. She also enjoyed reading and tending to her yard, finding joy in life's simple pleasures.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Neale Batchelor, in 2003, and her daughter, Lisa Catherine Batchelor, in 1980.

Kaye is survived by her devoted daughter, Jacqueline Renae McGrellis and her husband, Walter, of Millsboro, DE; and her cherished grandson, Liam McGrellis, also of Millsboro, DE.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends and family may call after 10:30 AM.  Interment will be held privately at Millsboro Cemetery.
