Carole Wright Dougherty, age 77, of Ocean View, Delaware passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

She grew up in Philadelphia, married and then retired in Ocean View, Delaware with her husband, Lawrence of 54 years.  She is survived by her two children, Caroleyn and Larry (Sheila) and a granddaughter, Sara.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who would do anything for her family as well as her friends.  She always put the needs of her family first and would go out of her way to help solve a problem.  Without a doubt, her favorite role was being grandmother to Sara.  She always made time to see her when she visited Pennsylvania.  She loved to help others who were in need.  She always enjoyed socializing and had a great sense of humor.  She could be tired but still up for a conversation.  Even in her last days, she still enjoyed visits with friends and actively participated in their conversations.

She worked in many different fields of nursing in her lifetime mostly at Springfield Hospital in Delaware County, PA with her favorite being the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

A memorial service will take place at a later date in Ocean View, Delaware.
