Carol Ann Wilson, 74, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, surrounded by love and family.

Born on September 4, 1951, in Amaranth, Pennsylvania, Carol was one of five children born to Seibert and Ethel Garlick. She grew up on the family farm and attended Jerusalem Christian Church with her mother and siblings. She attended Oak Grove and Southern Fulton schools in Warfordsburg, PA, later earning her bachelor's degree from York College and pursuing graduate studies in her field.

Carol built a lifelong career in the medical profession, remembered for her dedication and skill. She began her work as a Medical Technologist at York General Hospital before becoming a supervisor at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. She later spent more than two decades at Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, where she was known for her expertise in the blood bank and laboratory systems. She concluded her professional career as an Engineering Technologist with Siemens. After retiring, she continued to serve her community by managing payroll for the American Legion in Millsboro, where her fiancé Joe serves as Post Commander.

Beyond her career, Carol was deeply devoted to her family and found joy in the simple things of life. She had a life-long love for singing and enjoyed performing with her fiancé Joe and his band, Cadillac Jack, at the American Legion. She also had a gift for cooking, baking, and gardening. Her homemade spaghetti sauce was a family favorite, and her cheesecakes were always requested at gatherings. She especially treasured visiting her grandson Benjamin and playing board games together. In earlier years she enjoyed hiking, and more recently, she and Joe shared the joy of running an ice cream truck at the beach, bringing smiles to neighbors and visitors alike.

Carol is survived by her fiancé, Joe Brown of Millsboro; her daughter Meghan McKenna and her husband, Michael Doria, and their son Benjamin of West Palm Beach, Florida; and her daughter Lindsey Maczynski and her husband, Christopher, and their children of Wilmington, Delaware. She is also survived by her sisters Jean Hart of Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania, and Leona Leland of Port Royal, Pennsylvania; her brother Francis "Ed" Garlick of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law, Starletta Garlick of Crystal Spring, Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Seibert Garlick; her brothers, Wilmer Garlick and Seibert Garlick, Jr.; her nieces, Melinda Brenner and Angel Garlick; and other dear family members who went before her.

A visitation will be held at Melson Funeral Home, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A celebration of Carol's life will follow from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 28, 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro.
