Carol Jane Langell, age 94, of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware.

Carol was born in St. Clair, Michigan, on March 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Jed L. Minor and Mae Ida (Cleland) Minor. She worked for General Foods and later for MBNA in their debt collections department before her retirement.

Carol was a longtime member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Newark, Delaware, where she sang in the choir. She was also a former elementary school reading tutor and was always willing to support efforts benefiting children in the community. She enjoyed volunteering through the Newark Senior Center, the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, and the Chaddsford River Museum. Carol was also very active in the Republican Party, assisting with campaign efforts throughout Delaware.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Philip D. Langell, Jr.; a son, Philip Langell, III; daughter, Susan Langell; and five siblings, James, Frederick, Harlan, Gerald, and Loraine.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Downs (Steve); her son, Dean Langell (Stephanie); six grandchildren, Philip, Brandon, Lauren, Ellis, Julia (Ori), and Meredith; and five great-grandchildren, Trevor, Devin, and Zara, Charleston and Camden.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
