Carlene V Jones, age 92, of Frankford, DE went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 while surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her own home.

Carlene was born in Frankford, DE on October 6, 1932 daughter of the late Carl Veser and Lena (Behli) Veser.  She was a graduate of John M. Clayton High School Class of 1949, where she participated in the band playing the clarinet.

Carlene was a staunch supporter of 4-H where she served as a leader for 62 years and was proud to have been awarded with The Link's Award, Sussex County Leader's, Joy Sparko Award and 4-H Hall of Fame. "It was said that people have red blood, Carlene had green blood."

She was also a member of Frankford Methodist Church and faithfully attended St. George's United Methodist Church in Clarksville, DE, for 71 years where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years.  Atlantic Community Thrift Shop (ACTS) was originally started by representatives from five local churches and Carlene was one of those five individuals.  Carlene was a voracious reader and faithfully read through the Bible every year for 70 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Jones in 2016 and two aunts, Elsie Martin and Mary Hartenzimer.  Carlene is survived by her two children, Mechele Jones of Frankford, DE and Michael Jones and his wife, Celeste of Frankford, DE and four grandchildren, Hayley Brennan of San Diego, CA, Molly Brennan of Ridgely, MD, Schylar Jones of Millsboro, DE and Derek Jones of Frankford, DE.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at St. George's United Methodist Church, 34337 Omar Rd., Frankford, DE 19945, where friends and family may call after 10 AM.  Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Carlene's name to St. George's United Methodist Church at the above address.
