Camille "Cay" Cutright, born on June 11, 1948 in Buckhannon, WV, to LeRoy and Valta Canfield, passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2025. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike, two cherished daughters, Kim Fleming and her husband Doug, along with their three sons, James, Andrew, and Ryan, and Cassie Neumann and her husband Spencer, along with their three sons, Noah, Nelson, and Niles. Cay is also survived by her three brothers, Chuck, Ed, and Tom Canfield, and their beautiful families, as well as countless friends. She is predeceased by a brother, Joe. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cay attended Buckhannon-Upshur High School and West Virginia Wesleyan College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She married her middle school sweetheart, Mike Cutright, in 1967. After attending college together, the couple moved to Denton, MD, where Cay taught English, directed musicals, and ran an OM team for many years at Riverview (later, Lockerman) Middle School, affecting the lives of thousands of students. Cay was an active volunteer in the community with Parks & Recreation, Wednesday Night Club, Girl Scouts, and CASA, and was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. After retiring, Mike and Cay moved to Ocean View, DE. She acted with Dickens Parlour Theatre, painted several paintings that were exhibited and sold, and published a short story in Beach Life and a novel of young adult fiction titled Starting Over.

Cay loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She and Mike loved summertime visits with all six grandchildren. They spent winters in Houston, TX reveling in watching the Neumann boys play basketball. Cay was an active member of Mariners Bethel Global Methodist Church, Mariners Bethel Women's Group, and Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild. Cay was known for her vibrant energy and smile that lit up every room. She spent her life sharing her love for reading, writing, drama, the arts, and helping others.

The family will receive guests at Mariners Bethel Global Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave, Ocean View, DE 19970 at 2 pm on Sunday, February 2. Services will be held at 3 pm, followed by a reception at the Clubhouse of Bear Trap Dunes, 7 Clubhouse Drive, Ocean View, DE 19970 at 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Cay may be made to the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild or First Tee of Delaware .
