Bernard "Bernie" S. Tuckerson, Jr., age 77, of Frankford, DE, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Born in S. Amboy, NJ on May 20, 1947, he was the son of the late Bernard S. Tuckerson, Sr. and the late Ada (Critzer) Tuckerson.

Bernie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He continued his service in the United States Army for another 13 years, participating in several overseas deployments. After his military career, Bernie worked for the State of Delaware at the Stockley Center until his retirement.

He enjoyed collecting Lionel trains and was a movie buff, particularly fond of John Wayne films. Bernie will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his love of camping, where he and his family had seasonal sites in Chestertown, MD. He cherished riding his golf cart around the campground with his grandchildren, creating countless memories and friendships.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia M. (Fryer) Tuckerson; two sons, Bernie Tuckerson and his fiancé, Emily Blades of Dagsboro, DE, and Mark Tuckerson and his wife, Jessica of Millville, DE; two grandchildren, Reed Tuckerson and Lane Tuckerson; and five siblings, Kay Petzold, Tom Tuckerson, Betty Drake, Mary Tuckerson, and Michael Tuckerson, along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 noon on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945, where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Redmen's Cemetery in Selbyville, DE.
