Berg P. Papazian, age 85, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Berg was born on January 11, 1940, in Beirut, Lebanon, to the late Puzant Papazian and Noemie (Tellalian) Papazian, both survivors of the Armenian Genocide. He received his education in Lebanon, where he completed extensive professional training in electronics.

In 1963, Berg immigrated to the United States and shortly after began his career specializing in the repair and maintenance of advanced electronic equipment. He later worked for RCA in Philadelphia and subsequently joined North American Philips Company, where he remained until his retirement. While building a new life and supporting his family, Berg proudly served his adopted country in the United States Army Reserves from 1964 to 1970.

A devoted member of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church in Philadelphia, Berg was actively involved with the AYF and ARF chapters, generously offering his time and support. He possessed exceptional technical and electrical skills and was known for his ability to fix almost anything. Berg also enjoyed photography and painting, expressing his artistic talents in his spare time. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and collecting stamps.

Above all, Berg was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He lived a life rooted in kindness, love, and faith, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Vartoohie Rose (Palandjian) Papazian; his children, Raffi Papazian of Millsboro, DE, and Susie Papazian and her husband, Wayne Fritz, of Ocean View, DE; his grandsons, Christopher Papazian and Ryan Papazian, and his step-granddaughter, Reagan Fritz; his sister, Ani Semerjian and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, DE 19970. A celebration of Berg's life will follow at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Armenian Youth Federation of Philadelphia .
