Barbara P. Hudson, age 91, of Frankford, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Barbara was born on August 26, 1934, in Columbia, Missouri, to the late Francis Pope Powell and Rose E. (Dodson) Powell. She was married to George E. Hudson until his passing in 2014.

Barbara dedicated her career to education, retiring from the school district as a teacher and librarian, most recently serving at East Millsboro Elementary School.

She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including singing, playing the keyboard, painting, watching true crime television shows, and camping with her entire family. Barbara especially loved singing with the Sweet Adelines.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Russell Hudson and his wife, Sherry; her grandson, Timothy Hudson and his wife, Candi of Smyrna, Delaware; her two great-grandchildren, Cooper Hudson and Harper Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, located at 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, DE 19945, where friends and family may gather beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Coastal Hospice .
