Barbara Graham McDonald rejoined her parents, Forrest F. and Ada L. Graham, and her sister Nancy Sybert, on May 20, 2026. Born February 2, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, she put herself through college to become a dental hygienist. A former military wife, she lived in various parts of the United States and abroad before landing in Springfield, Virginia. She eventually retired to Millville, Delaware, to live near the beach.

She is remembered with love by her beloved son James McDonald, daughter-in-law Richell Slepetz, and her extended family.

Barbara was an avid gardener, golfer, kayaker, and tennis player. She played a mean game of Mahjong and Blackjack and was a master oyster shucker. She was a great fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and a lover of horses and horse racing after having been a dressage competitor in her youth. She loved to travel and we hope that she is currently sailing through the Caribbean islands and eating all the smoked salmon.

Most importantly, she was Ma to her son and daughter-in-law who will miss watching her enjoy her professional tennis and golf matches, horse racing, and Chiefs games on TV and a good martini before having her favorite prime rib and Caesar salad dinner.

Her family will hold a visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970 where a celebration of her life will begin at 11 AM.
