Barbara K. Hudson, age 90, of Frankford, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in the comfort of her own home.

Barbara was born in Whaleyville, MD on August 26, 1934 daughter of the late Jessie King and the late Bessie (Truitt) King.  She was a graduate of Buckingham High School in Berlin, MD.  Barbara worked as an inspector with NCR for 13 years prior to the company's move from Delaware and then she worked for another 13 years for First Omni Bank in Millsboro, DE working in bank card customer service department, retiring in 1996.

Barbara was a member of Frankford United Methodist Church and was attending Bay Shore Community Church near Gumboro, DE.  She was a former member of the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and was also a member of the Elks and American Legion.  Barbara loved to make people laugh and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Everyone that knew Barbara, definitely has a "Barbara Story" of something crazy she did just to get a laugh out of you.  She always enjoyed being with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Wayne A. Hudson in 2010.  She is survived by her three daughters, Wanda L. Steen and her husband, David of Frankford, DE, Pamela Ann Hudson of Frankford, DE and Robin Hudson Parker and her husband, Michael, Sr. of Georgetown, DE; 7 grandchildren, Nathan & Dustin McCabe, Brandy & Kristin Timmons, Mike Parker, Jr., Cortney Shockley and Kristen Furry and 13 greatgrandchildren.  Barbara is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sonny and Yvonne Bradford; a first cousin, Terri Jorgensen; several loving nieces and nephews and her two granddogs, Zoe and Meaha.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE, where friends and family may visit after 10 AM.  Interment will follow at Carey's Cemetery in Frankford, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Barbara's name to the Frankford Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 99, Frankford, DE 19945 or Bay Shore Community Church, 36759 Millsboro Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966.
