Authur "Artie" McGroary, 74, of Longboat Key, Fla., passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2025. He was born in New York, N.Y., Aug. 19, 1950, son of the late Authur and Sarah McGroary.

Artie was a veteran who served in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy. Before his retirement, he worked as an operating engineer in Local 14 in New York City, where he was known for his active involvement in supporting his colleagues within the union.

Upon retiring, Artie and his wife of 51 years, June, relocated to Florida and purchased a home in Bethany Beach, where they spent their summers. He had a passion for sailing and cherished the friendships he formed at the marina in Dewey Beach and near his home.

He was a devoted husband, uncle, brother, and friend, and he will be missed.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. No flowers allowed.
