Anne T. Haley, 90, of Bethany Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026.

Born on April 22, 1936, in Wilmington, DE, Anne was the cherished daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret Toomey. She grew up in Delaware, graduating from St. Peter’s High School in New Castle and later from the Goldey-Beacom School of Business in Wilmington. Anne was deeply proud of her Irish heritage, carrying a lifelong appreciation for the roots planted by her father, who immigrated to the United States from County Cork, Ireland.

In 1957, Anne married her beloved husband, James J. Haley. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work, raising their children on a small farm in New Castle, DE. Anne was a woman of many talents and simple pleasures; she was an avid sewer, loved taking long walks with Jim, and found immense joy in swimming in the ocean.

Above all, Anne was defined by her unwavering devotion to God. As a long-standing and active parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, she dedicated much of her time to her faith community. She was a committed member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and lived out her spiritual calling as a member of the Secular Franciscan Order (Third Order Franciscan).

Anne was preceded in death by her two sons, John Haley and James J. Haley, Jr.; her parents, Daniel and Margaret Toomey; and her siblings, Mary and John Toomey.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion and is survived by her beloved husband, James J. Haley, as well as:

• Her children: 
• - Joseph Haley of Newark, DE; Timothy Haley (Liz) of Bethany Beach, DE; Annie Haley of Bethany Beach, DE; and Dianne Hoard (Rob) of Wilmington, DE.
• - Her brother: Dan Toomey (Trish) of Newport Beach, CA.
• - Her grandchildren and great-grandchild: Benjamin, Rachel, Angela, Michael, Christopher, James, Emily, and Seamus.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 2, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, DE. Mass will begin at 11:00am with a half-hour visitation starting at 10:30am.
