Anna M. Tyre of Selbyville, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Linda T. Fentress.

She was born in Ocean City, Maryland, daughter of the late Alfred and Sarah (Hadder) Hudson.

Anna attended Ocean City High School. She was a poultry grower for Townsends Poultry for many years. Anna enjoyed thrifting, yard sales, reading her cookbooks, visiting with her family and friends, and enjoying nature from her front window.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Tyre in 1997; son, Larry J. Tyre in 1974; sisters; Jennie Clark, Molly Russell, Katie Toomey, Sarah Vickers, Frances Quillen, Nellie Sawyer, and Louise Farlow.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda T. Fentress of Berlin, and Sarah T. Swift of Selbyville; four grandchildren Laurence Fentress (Gerri), Michael Fentress, Jonathan Steele (Ashley), Jamie Steele (fiancé A. T. Whaley); five great grandchildren Ava Fentress, Lawson Fentress, Brooklynn Steele, Lillian Whaley and Lucy Whaley; sisters Evelyn Townsend and Josephine Dennis; brother James Hudson; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, DE 19945 where friends may call after 2 PM. Internment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berlin, MD. Pastor Woodrow Wilson of Stevenson United Methodist Church will officiate.
