Anna Sicari passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023.  She was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 26, 1926, to Lucy and Albert D'Agostino.  She was one of six children, with two older brothers and three sisters.   She was a graduate of Newtown High School in Queens, NY.   For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper in what was her father's business and later was owned by her brothers.   She married Salvatore (Sal) Sicari in January of 1956 and stopped working to raise two children, Lisa and Paul.   When the youngest was old enough, she resumed working as a bookkeeper and continued to do so for many years in a wide variety of businesses.  Anna and Sal were married for 28 years before Sal preceded her in death in 1984.    Shortly after his passing, she retired and moved to Crystal River, Florida.   After 10+ years of fun and sun in Florida, she opted to move to Alexandria, Virginia to be closer to Lisa and Paul.  She lived independently as long as she could, driving about northern Virginia and continuing her work as an avid shopper, something that started in her youth and continued throughout her life.

Anna was preceded in death by her siblings, Alfred D'Agostino, Gerald D'Agostino, Caroline Graine, Eileen Gennaro, and Joan Misciagna. She leaves behind her children and their spouses, Lisa Sicari (Damon Weirick) and Paul Sicari (John Morris), and a host of nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Melson's in Frankford, DE from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.   An interment will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, NY sometime in the next week.  Date and time are to be determined.
